Argentinian beards, Strikes and Bus rides

So I haven't posted anything here for a while but I had some observations that I thought might be interesting.  I will be leaving Buenos Aires soon = maybe in another two months or less.. I am going to be sad to say good bye to all  my new friends here. Its been quite an adventure.. Never drank and smoked so much in my life..  but wtfc  ( who tf cares)  lol  I had a good time and learned alot about myself in the meantime..
Anyway

Argentinians seem to have this idea that beards should be left to grow wild like weeds on their faces as if it was some symbol of manliness. In the USA the beards are trimmed and coiffed. while here in Buenos Aires, they like to grow it out of their necks. Personally I think it looks unkempt.  a poco sucio. if ya know what I mean. SO I asked my fellow worker  whats up with the beard from the neck up style.  Apparently... to keep it all clean and neat is a  well a..  a bit ..  a bit... gay.!
 hmmm
SO to be sloppy and nasty is more masculine.. I hate to ask if they manscape.  Must be a jungle.. down there..
I wont draw that in case I frighten the kids.
but here are my illustrations of the two kinds of beards from two continents...
and now...

Notice the Italian influenced nose  thats very prevalent here in BsAs..

On to other subjects

apparently, striking is a hobby here.. Last week the subway workers striked for 7 days..  the city was in chaos.. There alot of people to move in this huge city.!!
We applaud for   anyone leaving the studio or if its their birthday or for anything, for that matter,  having a baby, survivng a motorcycle accident..   whatever.. we Argentinians will applaud for anything..!! ) ( I notice that when a plane lands in a south american country  the passengers applaud..  Like what does that mean  ?   were we lucky that we landed and we are congratulating the captain?).

ANd now for an adventure..  I ride the bus everyday..  There are buses everywhere and so many..  when you wait for a bus, you can wait ten minutes and then... sudenly.. yo see your bus..followed by another bus of the same number  and another one of the same number  ALL IN  A ROW!!!..   wtf.!!  they must play race the other bus. or something..
Once I saw 4 of my buses ( number 55) one after the other after I spent 15 minutes waiting..  .
Here is what is like to ride the bus ..   Notice in the street how many buses there are.. !! crazy..

Adios  for now!!

December and beyond Continued

Each tomb has a capacity of 60 coffins below the mausoleum

I beleive this statue was created by the father whos daughter was mistaken for dead and put in to a coffin and later when the coffin lid was reopened found that the girl tried desperately to escape after she woke up from the coma..

The Recoletta Museum from the Recoletta Mall patio next to  McDonalds

The above pictures are of the Recoletta Cemetery.. Famous here in Buenos Aires..  Where all of the most important people are buried.   You see above the tomb of Eva Peron made more famous in AMerica by Madonnas portrayal..

PARRILA !!
Parrila means barbecue..  and lots   of meat..  Usually over a wood fired stove.   Delicious..  THere are many Parilla restaurants scatterd throughout the city...

Below...

Christmas!!  Santa is making its way into the culture here..  Saw this guy at the mall .. Great Santa!

Went to Recoletta  Cemetery with Jon a while back and met up with this guy..    What a performer.. He didnt move. Perfect goth image for the Cemetery..

Some close ups of the cemetery.  The spider webs are kind of spooky  like it was dressed up a Hollywood set.

Miguel!!  with his classic look..  Challenging your beliefs of the world.

A Bike Ride in the Park

Went to a ecological reserve in Puerto Madero..  a Barrio in Buenos Aires..  Jon and I rented some bicycles and rode aroung the park which  MUY GRANDE..  its big!!    We stopped off at a few places for rest of which you will see some photos.    Ill be going back there soon..  Its right by the bay/ocean and it was nice to hear the waves..  I sat there in a semi meditative state drinking in the sounds of gently lapping waves on the seashore..

The following pictures show sights around the park.

Ill be leaving this for the next tenant in my furnished apartment

Went to see Puss n B0ots  !!  December 8th premiere.  Here are some of my colleagues at Catmandu Studios who came with me to see the Puss..  Well done guys ( at the DW ranch)  the movie was awesome..

Thats Vicki on the right.. she was a Ianimate student working with Ted Ty from DW as her instructor.( I teach for iAnimate as well)
I was actually suprised to see JEFFREY KATZENBERG taking a bus in Buenos Aires..
Hmmm maybe the price of DW stock going down changed his lifestyle??
